In April, AHDC will join with non-profits all over the City of Alexandria in Spring2ACTion, a community day of giving powered by the incredible generosity of both locals and far-flung supporters. Last year, you helped AHDC raise a record $14,000 that allowed us to revamp our community garden program and deliver more produce than ever.

This year we’re aiming higher. We’re installing a second garden and delivering produce all season - and looking to raise $20,000 to do so. Will you join us?

For many Alexandrians, a healthy, secure home can be prohibitively expensive. Since 2000, there has been a 90% decline in the number of market rate affordable units in our city. The National Low Income Housing Coalition finds that it would take 97 hours of minimum wage work/week to afford an average 2 bedroom apartment in Virginia.
