As part of our Spring2ACTion fundraising campaign, Housing Alexandria held a community art contest for children and teenagers living in Housing Alexandria properties. The contest prompt was “What does Spring feel like to you?”
We enjoyed seeing all the different art pieces that were submitted and witnessing the impressive creativity of the young people in our community. Based on the criteria with which we judged the art pieces, we selected a winner for two age categories. The winner for the younger age category was Markon Moges (below), and the winner for the older age category was Luna Romero (above). We presented each of the winners with $500 checks at events at their respective properties.
