The Alexandria Housing Development Corporation (AHDC) is a non-profit developer and owner of affordable housing, primarily focused on projects located in the City of Alexandria, Virginia. Mission and Goal: AHDC's mission is to preserve and produce affordable rental and for-sale housing for low and moderate income households. The organization's goal is to make it possible for income-eligible individuals and families to obtain safe, high-quality housing and to help build supportive communities in which to live. The City of Alexandria has just won an Award for Excellence for Public-Private Partnerships from the U.S. Conference of Mayors for The Station at Potomac Yard, AHDC's innovative mixed-use project. Construction is getting underway at The Station which is part of the overall Potomac Yard project being developed on the former railroad yard.
