The Alexandria Housing Development Corporation (AHDC) is a non-profit developer and owner of affordable housing, primarily focused on projects located in the City of Alexandria, Virginia. Mission and Goal: AHDC's mission is to preserve and produce affordable rental and for-sale housing for low and moderate income households. The organization's goal is to make it possible for income-eligible individuals and families to obtain safe, high-quality housing and to help build supportive communities in which to live. AHDC is proud to announce that The Station at Potomac Yard, our newly opened affordable housing project, was cited as a recipient of a 2009 Virginia Housing Award on November 19th at the Governor's Housing Conference in Norfolk. Our newest venture is our partnership with the City of Alexandria's Office of Housing and Rebuilding Together Alexandria to acquire, rehabilitate, and resell four foreclosed homes in the City using Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds. Our first property was purchased October 27th and the sale of the renovated property to a qualified low income family was celebrated in a well-attended ceremony on December 16th.
