Future address: 3450 Berkeley Street, Alexandria VA, 22302 (at the intersection of King and Beauregard.) Please note: interested applicants may NOT enter the construction site.

The Nexus will have 74 units, a mix of studios, 1-, 2-, and 3- BRs. You can see square footage and prices below. 8 of these units are accessible units - one 1-BR, six 2-BRs, and one 3-BR.

Waitlist Application Instructions & Process:

AHDC will begin accepting waitlist applications on Monday, June 17th at 6:00 AM, and stop accepting them July 1st at 11:59 PM. The waitlist applications will be used by the leasing team to contact interested applicants in the order that they are received. Applications completed online will be timestamped at the time of submission. Applications mailed in will be timestamped at the time they are collected from the P.O. Box.

Submitting this waitlist application does not guarantee that you will be invited to complete a lease application, an apartment that meets your needs will be available, or that you qualify based on household income.

Please do not submit multiple applications. If you submit multiple applications, we will use the final one submitted as your timestamp. (If you are unsure if your application was received, check your junk email for a timestamp notification. If you do not have a timestamp confirmation, or if you think you’ve made a mistake, you can contact

To complete an application, you will be asked to provide AHDC with the following information:

  1. Contact information - Name, current address, email, phone number

  2. Unit preferences - # of BRs and ADA needs

  3. Household composition - # of adults, # of children, and if adults are full time students.

  4. Household income estimation - please see the FAQ for more information about how income is used.

    Incomplete applications will not be considered.

There are two options for submitting your waitlist application:

  1. Completing the online application - beginning at 6:00 AM on June 17th.

    The online application is accessible on smartphones and tablets as well as computers. Online applications will be timestamped at the time and date of submission. Completing the online application will be the quickest way to submit your information.

  2. Mailing your application:

    Click here to view the downloadable and printable version of the application. You can download and print this application and return it in the mail. You can also collect a pre-printed application from the Office of Housing at 421 King Street, Suite 215, beginning at 9:00 AM on Friday June 14th. (Printed applications picked up from the Office of Housing must still be mailed back to AHDC the P.O. box listed below.)

    You can NOT drop off mail in person at this location - it must be mailed. Attempting to deliver mail in person to this location or any location will result in a multiple day delay in the receipt of your application, placing you lower on the waitlist.

AHDC will check the P.O. Box each day, Monday thru Friday, beginning June 17th. All mailed applications will be marked as received at the time and date of collection.
