Thanks to our $10,000 grant from Capital One, we have been able to start our program of resident services at The Station and now at our new rental properties - Arbelo, Lacy Court, and Longview Terrace.
Capital One Check.

AHDC provides ongoing services and activities to support residents in its rental communities. These include holiday parties and adult workshops. Here children at The Station at Potomac Yard enjoy a Fall Party.

Tax Workshop.
Based on a resident survey conducted in 2011 regarding needs and interests, AHDC has begun a program to help residents meet health and fitness goals. In cooperation with the Alexandria YMCA, every resident has received a two month pass to the Y facility. Scholarships to continue memberships may be available, depending on interest.

When residents move in to an AHDC property, they receive information about City services, schools, and public transportation options. They also receive materials on how to maintain and maximize energy efficient use of appliances and utilities. Our onsite property managers, Moriah Margerum and, her assistant, Cristina Pena, provide regular daily assistance help to residents as well.

We will be adding to our program of services for our residents in 2012 with more health and fitness activities, social events, and more activities for our resident children. We welcome volunteers who would like to help with these or other activities for our residents.
