Arbelo, Lacy Court, and Longview Terrace

In June, AHDC purchased three rental apartment properties in the City of Alexandria - Arbelo, Lacy Court, and Longview Terrace - from RPJ Housing, adding 119 more units to the sixty five that AHDC presently owns. We have put up our signs and begun rehabilitation of all three properties. Long range plans for these properties include more extensive rehabilitation and preservation as affordable rental housing.

The Station at Potomac Yard

AHDC opened its award-winning multi-family, multi-use project in the fall of 2009. All units are presently leased. For more information about unit availability in the future, contact Moriah Margerum at thestation@equitymgmt.com or 703-751-0003.

Here, four of our AHDC Board members, Michael Caison, Jack Corrado, Robert Burns, and Cathy Pharis join Mayor Euille and other Alexandria dignitaries for the ceremonial "hose uncoupling" signifying the opening of The Station. As the ground floor of the project houses the City of Alexandria's first new fire rescue station in thirty years, a "hose uncoupling" was done in lieu of a traditional ribbon cutting.

Alexandria Crossing RPO Unit

AHDC is partnering with the City to provide a Residential Police Officer condominium unit at the Alexandria Crossing development. AHDC owns and manages the unit which is occupied by a City of Alexandria Residential Police Officer.

The Alexandria Police Department's Residential Police Officer Program began in 1992 in partnership with the United States Department of Justice. The purpose was to assign an officer to both live and work within a specific targeted community and thus become a part of the community and culture. This program contributed to the creation of a national model for Residential Policing Programs. Alexandria currently funds twelve residential police positions.
