Welcome to the Alexandria Housing Development Corporation's website.
The Alexandria Housing Development Corporation (AHDC) is a non-profit developer and owner of affordable housing, primarily focused on projects located in the City of Alexandria, Virginia.
Mission and Goal: AHDC's mission is to preserve and produce affordable rental and for-sale housing for low and moderate income households. The organization's goal is to make it possible for income-eligible individuals and families to obtain safe, high-quality housing and to help build supportive communities in which to live.
AHDC News: AHDC has been selected as a recipient of a 2010 Annual Achievement Award from the Housing Association of Non-Profit Developers (HAND). The award will be presented at the HAND Annual Meeting and Housing Expo on June 7th. The award recognizes the innovative approach to the expansion of affordable housing that has been demonstrated by AHDC's multi-use, multi-family project, The Station at Potomac Yard, in Alexandria. HAND supports a community of housing providers throughout the Baltimore-Washington DC-Richmond corridor.

AHDC is also partnering with the City of Alexandria's Office of Housing and Rebuilding Together Alexandria to acquire, rehabilitate, and resell foreclosed homes in the City using Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds.
